Best Raiding Gear available for 3.2see
here for the 3.1 list,
here for the 3.3 list.
Color explanation:
Items in
gold are crafted items.
Items in
coral? are PvP items.
Items in
green are healing items. Healing items are defined as items which have mp5 instead of a dmg stat like crit/haste etc.
Numbers in
orange are the value of an item when including hit.
Since the 3.0 patch, the 1% miss cap has been removed for spells, thus 17% hit is required for a naked, untalented priest to never miss on a raid boss. Always aim to get near (in other words never be far lower or far higher than) the hit cap, which is 288.55 hit rating at level 80 with 3/3 Shadow Focus and 3/3 Misery for non-draenai. Spell hit is factored into the value of an item, but remains separate from the main calculation since spell hit rating is 0 once hit-capped. There are two ways to use the hit numbers:
1) Ignore the orange pseudopower numbers and only use the white to reach the highest total possible. If you're not nearly hit-capped then decide on which piece of gear(or a gem) will offer the best +hit gained:PP lost ratio while being mindful of exactly how much +hit is needed.
2) Use only the orange pseudopower numbers(or white for items without hit) and count each point in Shadow Focus/Misery as 34.36 PP to reach the highest total possible. Remember though that hit rating is worth 0 once hit-capped, so this method will only work when total hit rating is at maximum a few points above the required amount at the given level of Shadow Focus/Misery. Spell Hit Caps:*
263 hit is the cap with 6 points between Shadow Focus and Misery and with a Draenei in your group
*
289 hit is the cap with 6 points between Shadow Focus and Misery
*
315 hit before you can go to 5 points between Shadow Focus and Misery
*
341 hit before you can go to 4 points between Shadow Focus and Misery
*
368 hit before you can go to 3 points between Shadow Focus and Misery
*
394 hit before you can go to 2 points between Shadow Focus and Misery
*
420 hit before you can go to 1 point between Shadow Focus and Misery
*
446 hit before you can go to 0 points between Shadow Focus and Misery
Combatratings@80:
1% hit = 26.23 hit rating at level 80.
1% haste = 32.79 haste rating at level 80.
1% crit = 45.91 crit rating at level 80.
For the purpose of this list, crit, haste, spirit, int, & hit are compared against spellpower. Spellpower is given the value 1.0, and other stats are given relative value. It is important to note that these relative values are NOT constant. They change based on the gear and spec of the priest. It is traditional on this thread to use scaling values based on the best gear set from the PREVIOUS major release. This assumes that you currently have the best gear from the previous release, and you are evaluating gear from the new release.
For 3.2.2, scaling factors were taken assuming pre-Onyxia, level 245 gear. Specifically, this profile in simcraft:
Code:
Priest_T9_13_00_58_245 Int=0.366855 Spi=0.554587 SP=1.613748 Hit=2.545532 Crit=1.222958 Haste=1.042097
Please reference

3.2.2 Scaling factors1 SP = 1
1 Crit = 0.76
1 Haste = 0.65
1 Spi = 0.34
1 Int = 0.23
1 Hit = 1.58
Original 3.2 scaling factors (for reference)
scaling factors(according to simcraft):
Priest_T8_13_00_58 Int=0.35 Spi=0.39 SP=1.56 Hit=2.39 Crit=1.12 Haste=1.07 Lag=0.00
In order to compare the stats to each other we use Spellpower as the base. This results in the following PP(Pseudopower or spellpower equivalent) values:
1 SP = 1
1 Crit = 0.72
1 Haste = 0.68
1 Spi = 0.25
1 Int = 0.22
1 Hit = 1.53

viewtopic.php?p=192340#p192340... does 3.2.2 affect this at all?
T8:
2Pc - 122 dps = 78 PP that means we gain 39 PP per item if we use 2 pieces of T8.
2Pc+4Pc - 231 dps = 147 PP that means we gain 37 PP per item if we use 4 pieces of T8.
T9: (see
here)
2Pc - 133 dps = 84 PP that means we gain 42 PP per item if we use 2 pieces of T9.
2Pc+4Pc - 259 dps = 165 PP that means we gain 41 PP per item if we use 4 pieces of T9.
Gem choices are:Runed Cardinal Ruby - 23
Potent Ametrine - 19.6
This means it is worth going for a socketbonus if it is >= 4 SP, >= 5 crit, >= 6 haste
Purified Dreadstone - 15.4 (needed to activate
CSD Metagem)
This means it is worth going for a socketbonus if it is >= 8 SP
Chaotic Skyfire Diamond:
7000*0.35*(209%/200%-100%) = 7000*0.35*0.045 = 110.25 dps = 70 PP
15.2 PP penalty for using two blue gems instead of red gems -> 54.8 + 21*0.76 = 70.76
