I would like to hear about how Tricks of the Trade works with Pain and Suffering. What kind of bonus should it cause to DPS?

Oops, I somehow forgot them to mention.They are +%dmg modifier, buff on a player, which makes them work like Shadow Weaving.

I have ried to weapon swap but the item remains locked out because of "in combat" or something.

I would consider doing this with nevermelting Ice crystal if I could actually get it to swap out.

Weapons or anything else is just to much, I already have enough on my plate pre pull.

I would really appreciate an answer on how to swap NIC out for say reign once I have used the 20% crit on SWP.

Only the weapon slots are switchable in combat, and I assume that using NIC and then switching the trinket out would remove its buff.

Hello, this doesn't really belong to the topic, because it only refers to SW:P which doesn't scale with haste at all (ignoring the benefit from shorter cast cast time - we usually cast SW:P once per fight) .
But talking about VT and DP, answer is yes, they both scale with potion of speed.

So help me out because I have been casting SW:P wrong. I have both the Sundial and Abyssal Rune. Before casting SW:P I make sure i have 5 stacks up but during some point in the fight if I notice either or both trinkets proc (can both proc at the same time?) I recast SW:P to get the buff for as long as I can keep it rolling with MF or so I thought. According to this as soon as I refresh SW:P the SP will reset to whatever it is at that point?

You don't need to recast SW:P if Sundial or Rune proc.As soon as you hit the target with Mind Flay, damage your SW:P has been ticking for is recalculated by your current spell power.It's pretty safe to say you can ignore both procs and just keep dpsing.SW:P will be ticking for more it you refresh it while trinket procs are up.

hi all, if heroism is activated, i don't recast sw:p right ? It ticks automatically faster when hero is activated ?

If black magic proccs or any trinket with haste procc it ticks automatically faster, too ?

SWP will never ever tick faster. Only DP and VT are affected by haste...

mhh fu right, but whats with DP and VT ? i know that i recast it after 24 seconds (DP) and 15/21 seconds (VT) but i want to know it

Hello, been reading this website for years but that's the first time I post.



I would also like to know about this. Do we get to keep the 15% damage boost on our SW:P from TotT for the remaining of the fight or do we lose it once we refresh it through P&S after the TotT expired ?
I assume we do not, but just to be sure.

Just tried myself and apparently, we keep the 15% damage boost on our SW:P if it's casted with TotT and refreshed through P&S (even after TotT faded).

Edit: For what it's worth, I did some basic calculations in order to see what would the gain be if we get a TotT at the begining of a fight. Based on my own DPS on a very standstill fight (rotface) with SW:P being 10% of the overall damages, that would represent approximatively a 140dps boost.

That's not much but I guess that's far enough considering how easy it is to get a TotT in a 25men raid.

Tricks of the Trade are already mentioned in "Buff on player" section, saying the damage bonus keeps rolling on SW:P.
