Yeah, another one of these threads. I can hear the sighs already.

Got the MBRemove spreadsheet and plugged in the numbers, and it's telling me to not drop Mind Blast. The DPET difference is -35.04.

Screenshot of the spreadsheet data.

WoW-Heroes (Click the Shadow button!) (Ignore the 20Haste gems...I'm Holy until the main Holy priest gets back.)

I know, you're gonna say "OP is troll, the spreadsheet says not to", but lots of people say "4pc T10 = drop MB", so I'm just wanting to make sure.

I tried the non-Improved MB spec last night, but I haven't looked at the logs yet.

Are there others providing replenishment, if so how many others?

Have you run simcraft? What is it telling you about your DPET for MF and MB?

To be honest, you never drop it completely from your rotation. At least, I don't. I just don't cast it on cooldown anymore. If you have just one GCD left between a MF finish and dot refresh, what are you going to cast? Another MF and refresh later or just a MB to fill the gap?

okay.. its REALY simple.. In theory: if you are a good shadowpriest you will benefit from keeping it in your cast lists... if you are a bad shadowpriest you will prob have better results spamflaying and using MB as gap filler (where you now use SWD)

in practice: Itll prob be a dps differents of maybe 100-200 (so we are talking like 10,4k or 10,6k dps) if you cast MB or not.. and the RNG in fights and buffs often give bigger results in dps diff

So in all honesty if you are not in a uber hardcore guild where they expect you to get everything possible out of your priest, or you are not a Min/Maxer after 4 pc the DPET differents between MB and MF is so close it realy doesnt matter alot wether to cast or not.. and its more of a personal preference then a big differents in dps..

personally I like the MB after VT refresh combo, couse its a little less boring then spamflay

Ran Simcraft, and it says MF's DPET is 5174, whereas MB's DPET is 5589, however the spreadsheet said their DPET's were 3172 and 3167. Odd.

Looking at the simcraft again though, there appears to be something wrong with it because it's putting me at only 7.9k DPS. I DO still have the spec with 0/5 Imp. MB, so that could be the issue.

I'll respec into it and simcraft again.

Went back to the 5/5 Imp. MB spec and...Simcraft puts me at 6K dps. I looked at the damage per spell data, and it has "0" for Mind Flay, SW:P and VT, even though it shows that those spells were cast a lot, and even generated crit %, DPET, ect.

Still, MB had around 400 higher DPET than MF.
