Just before shutdown i was able to throw together a group for naxx with 9 people.

But to cut the story short i have 184 hit (5%)+ Misery, No other additional + hit buffs and the only spell that was missing was Mind Flay and only missed once or twice over two 10 minute fights. (2 attempts)

I'll throw some numbers up once i can get back onto a raid boss.

any updates yet?
since from my experience with a nax raid and today with 11 hours streak of heroics.. ive had 0 misses with any spells. While my hit rating as 157 and 6% hit from talents..

after that experience ive been reading up on google finding some sites stating that you only need 9% hit in wotlk

can anyone confirm that?

lvl 80 mobs and "Boss" mobs have different hit rating req's. its 17% for bosses. possibly 9% for 80's, but the majority of people go according to "boss" mobs as that's the real content

Interestingly only misses on bosses in Naxx I had was for timbolts and shadowfiend. On trash all of my spells besides mind sear had 0.8-2% miss rate. I have a bit less than 8% hit so ~14% with talents.

Try testing on a test dummy...
Misery + shadow focus is 6% hit, so try to equip less than 3% hit and see how often you miss. Then, equip more than 3% hit and test it...

If you do get resist, i can think of other stuff that could affect it, like the boomkin buff and misery buff stacking (a bug), effectively getting 3% extra hit, with your 5% and a draenei, you're already at 16%

Idk, trying to find an explanation xD

We did have boomkin but we are horde. If really FF and misery stack it would explain it perfectly.

[edit]

Or maybe it wouldn't explain. I'm about 3% under hitcap with talents and gear, no misses on bosses but ~2% on trash. Trash is usually 1-2 levels higher than you so around 6% miss chanche instead of 17% but I get around 2% misses on them. Something doesn't add up right. Is anyone else seeing this? Are other classes seeing similar things?

for a 4h30min raid 170 hit rating + the usual 7% and i haven't seen a single miss, not even MF. i doubt even the most generous RNG can allow for this. wws: http://wowwebstats.com/xtvstxbqe5lx3?a=x3a5b8b

something is definitely going on here...

Same thing...194hit, and not a single miss in Naxx...not going to even bother with hit rating until there is a reasonable explanation for this...stacking some hit gear in the bank for now

Looking through my logs of Spider Wing, Plague Wing, Instructor Razuvious, Patchwerk kills and a number of Grobbulus attempts (in 10 man) I also couldn't find any SPELL_MISS (subtype MISS) for me except for 1 Mind Sear tick.

At a guess, 10 man raid bosses are level 82, not level 83, in which case Misery + Shadow Focus is enough to handle them (though might still want another 3% if you don't want to worry about getting Misery up).

That said, I felt like I was having resists....it's possible Mind Flay was missing at least and not showing up in the logs. But then, it's so buggy nothing we can probably do to fix that anyway.

How about trash? I'm having quite a few misses on trash and never on bosses, not even when I aoe adds or something.

In my experience trash are more likely to have +resists built in etc. than bosses which might account for it possibly. Also you might be a bit less likely to get up that Misery first or whatever. However as most trash seem to be level 81 or 82, it would seem likely (if you're wearing any +hit rating) that it's +resists built into the mob or broken Mind Flay mechanics heh.

Anyone got some WWS parses of 25 mans btw?

Actually, now that you mention it, I was surprised with my miss rate (or lack of) in my first 10 man run, where I was under the hit cap. I didn't have any misses on bosses logged on WWS. Since then however, I'm hit capped - and managed to overwrite my 25 man Naxx log... Can test again Wednesday.

The one immediate thing that springs to mind is that there was a bug in beta where Hit Rating worked inversely - the more hit rating you had, the more you missed. Either that could have crept back (although I think we'd know about it by now!), or there's a similar bug. I can try testing on target dummies later with various levels of spell hit and see what happens I guess.
