To give you an idea about the impossibility to determine a
castseq/priority list i have some non hasted output in the next post.

1) I took the average DMG values from the latest simcraft.
2) Only used full MF or 1 tick (1GCD, easy to time, hammer next spell),
cause 2 ticks is atm impossible to time.
3) No haste implemented yet.
4) left out SWP, cause i'm lazy.

Important thing to notice is that priority shifts according to fight lenght.
Therefore its impossible to detemine priorities.
Our DoT's a a slight advantage.
Maybe haste changes this, but i doubt it.

2) add a forced start, till SWP/vun5

At these lenghts is the last time we see MB as #1 in priority.

I have no experience with these roations yet, but it is interesting to me that SW:P was not used in them. With the MF refresh, is it not worth the 1 sec GCD on 300+ second fights? Thanks for doing this, I am excited to be able to try these out and see what numbers I can come up with, with my current gear!

His rotations are for the time when SWP is already on the mob. It is mentioned in the original post, btw

Thanks for taking the time to do this. Do you have any without using SWD? I'm curious to know what the dps difference is because if it isn't large then personally I would be happy to forgo damaging myself during fights

Although the overriding thing I notice is that it doesn't really make much difference which order spells are prioritised. Certainly my own timing mistakes during casting are going to make these differences fade into insignificance!

Its all depends on MF, will they fix it so we can cast MF(2ticks)?, ATM its impossible, therefor we need SWD.
When its fixed and we can cast MF2ticks, my estimate, is that with SWD you would gain 25dps at the VERY max.

Idd, in the end we cast all the same amount, the shorter the fight, the more difference you'll see.

Maybe I am rather new at the theroy crafting . but looking over the dps rotation the one thing that seems to throw me off is that MB is cast before VT .. is there a reason for this since currently mana regen (refreshment) only comes from MB and nothing else in our cast?


I am trying to up my dps but having issues with it over all.

1) Cause there isn't a starting order yet, (4-5 spells that you cast in the start to get 5/5 vun).
2) This isn't about manaregen, but MAX dps.

Okay thank you I missed that part .. My normal rotation usually on boss fights are VE,DP,SWP this is usually done in on the run in since they are instance cast, followed by SW:D provided tanks have aggro okay. once I am in postion my rotation is usually MF, MB, MF1 SW:D , DP and repeat using mind flay till MB is off cooldown.

VT seems like less of a priority now because it's a buff that scales on an individuals mana, not our damage. Yes it is a DoT, but there's 4.5s before ANY damage is done from it. MB looks like a great opener now, it's a 1.5s cast, instant damage and the cd (5/5 Imp) allows enough time to get SWP/DP/VT up, MB again, SWD, and then MF to refresh SWP and continue on. That's just my most recent view on it.

Anyone else agree with me that the reason for VT being priority over most any other spells in a stationary setting, was because our damage affected mana output to our group? Now that its ~static, and two other classes have generally a more efficient way of providing it, we'd want to focus on getting more damage out sooner and as quickly as possible, yes?

In Naxx gear VT ticks for >3k damage, other dots are doing much less damage.

MF3 is the full 3 tick MF.
