I'd just like to add a small note about mobility encounters and haste. In some situations I can barely stand still long enough to recast VT, but with haste shaving off just a small bit of the 1.5s to say 1.3s, it helps more than I would have thought at first. A DoT with lower damage is better than no DoT after all =) And i tend to be able to squeeze a second mindflay tick off here and there where I previously had to move after the first for heavy running bosses like Supremus.

I am going to dumb this down a bit with a question...in a matter of opinion...

1357 unbuffed bonus damage and 0 haste OR

1252 unbuffed bonus damage and 192 haste?

Also, one thing I'd really like to make clear, is that there isn't a "midway point" where haste hurts you rather than helps. Yes, haste can change your rotation, but seeing as our rotation is merely one of keeping things up and on cooldown, it doesn't negatively affect us. Here's an example that might help clarify that point: Elemental shammies are conflicted about haste because their ideal rotation is 3 lightning bolts followed by a chain lightning, repeated indefinitely. This works perfectly because the 2 second lightning bolt cast, times three, fits perfectly into the 6 second chain lightning cooldown. When they start getting haste, they just have a buffer of wasted time between the third lightning bolt cast and the end of chain lightning's cooldown. Thus, haste is only good for them once they can do a 4:1 rotation without losing too much dps from delaying the chain lightning. Shadowpriests don't work this way. We don't just cast, say, MB, 2xMF, MB, 2xMF, etc. We don't have a rotation, per se, but rather a priority list.

Well, looks like we will still have a priority list on upcoming 3.0, but with SWD beggining to feel like a "filler" spell and no need to refresh SWP, i found that there are indeed 2 "sweet" spots that benefit our exquisite rotation and new talent choices.

142 haste at level 70 is enough to cast 2 flays in 5.5 seconds. Sweet for 5/5 Improved Mind Blast.

113 haste at level 70 is enough to make a 5 GCDs in 7 seconds instead of 7.5. That means that those that are are not 5/5 Imp Mind Blast fans can go MB - XX - MF - MF - MB on perfect rotation ( where XX is either SWP, VT or SWD ) by spending only 2 points on Improved Mind Blast instead of 3.

:-)
